The International Conference & Workshop on Knowledge Transfer 2018 (ICWKT’18) was organized by the National Knowledge Transfer Committee in collaboration with the DRB-HICOM University of Automotive Malaysia (DHU) and University Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) at the RHR Hotel@UNITEN in Kajang, Selangor. SMBA was supporting this event as a partner.
The theme of the two-day conference, with panel discussions and workshops: Knowledge Fusion In The 4th Industrial Revolution.
After the welcoming remarks by Professor Dato’ Sr. Dr. Omar Osman, Chairman of National Transfer Programme, and Professor Dr. Haslan Abu Hassan, Chairman of International Conference and Workshop on Knowledge Transfer (ICWKT), Professor Mushtak Al-Atabi, Provost and CEO Heriot-Watt University, and Mr. Tee Bin Ong, Executive Vice President, Bossard Group, Zug, Switzerland, were giving their keynote speeches on the topic of Industrial Revolution 4.0.
The keynote speeches were followed by a forum with the title “Humanizing and Lifelong Learning 4.0”. Moderator, Mr. Khaeruddin Sudharmin, was discussing the topic with Mr. Ts. Abi Sofian Abdul Hamid, Secretary General, The Chartered Institute of Logistic and Transport Malaysia, Professor Dr. Arham Abdullah, Director, Industry Link Division, Ministry of Education, and Mr. Laurent Maillefer, VP Head of Robotics-Malaysia, Robotics & Motion Division, ABB Holdings Sdn Bhd.
A business luncheon with the SMBA members and the organizers and representatives of ICWKT’18 complemented the cooperation between ICWKT’18 and SMBA and offered the participants an opportunity to discuss the feasibility of synergising working relationships between the governmental agencies, universities, and the Swiss business community in Malaysia in terms of academia collaboration, innovation and technology development, and human capacity building.
