The 21st SMBA AGM was held on 10th June 2020 @ 4pm. It was the first virtual AGM, using the Microsoft Teams collaboration platform. The key persons comprising of the Ambassador of Switzerland H.E. Andrea Reichlin, Legal Adviser Datin Shelina Razaly Wahi, Mr. Chris Meyer, Mr. Michael Hutab, Ms. Aileen Chan, Mr. Martin Kikstein, Ms. Mei-Ling Ludi and two supporting staff of DKSH gathered at the premises of DKSH’s office at Menara Ken, Taman Tun Dr. Ismail.
We were joined online by several supporting members who casted their votes, in a much different way than the traditional Swiss way of raising their hands. It was a first-time experience for everyone, and we are happy to announce that it was a great success.
And with much pleasure we announce some new positions in the committee team. Congratulations to Mr. Michael Hutab from DKSH to be elected as the new Chairman replacing Mr. Christian Meyer who has been the longest servicing Chairman. On this note, we would like to wish Mr. Christian Meyer all the very best and thank you again for your immense contribution and dedication to SMBA and we will miss your great inputs and your fine leadership. Congratulations to Mr. Markus Helbing from Clue Solutions to be elected the Vice Chairman and congratulations to Mr. Craig Connolly from Nestle and Mr. Simon Fluck from Sarnatec to be elected ordinary committee members.
Ms. Aileen Chan and Mr. Martin Kikstein have been confirmed for another term in their roles as the Secretary and Treasurer, congratulations to them too.
And last but not least, we congratulate the Board Members, Mr. Andre Keller, Ms. Nurizan Hussin and Ms. Pauline Goh for their re-election.
Another great change that has been voted unanimously is that SMBA (Swiss Malaysian Business Association) will get a new name and will be called SMCC (Swiss Malaysian Chamber of Commerce). Look out for our new logo and look soon!
