The SMBA HR Circle was established in 2016 to foster the exchange between the HR Practitioners of Swiss Companies active in Malaysia on all HR related matters.
On 17th November 2017, Mr. Shahzad Umar graciously hosted the SMBA HR Circle at the Malaysian headquarter of Nestle in Petaling Jaya. Participants and HR practitioners from SR Technics, DKSH, Roche, Nestle, Sicpa, Ruag and Dachser attended.
The program was kicked off with a IR Talk on Medical Board Out by Ms. Rajeswari Karupiah, Managing Partner of Rajeswari Karupiah & Co, a legal firm specializing in Employment & Industrial Law in Kuala Lumpur. Ms. Rajeswari gave a brief introduction around the legal requirements for medical board out, followed by practical examples and guidance of the do’s and don’ts for HR practitioners in particular situations. Thereafter it was followed by Q&A from the floor.
Mr. Meyer & Ms. Nurizan then chaired a brainstorming session to define the contents of future meetings. It was suggested that the formal HR Circle will be organized quarterly and will be focusing on practical topics supporting HR professionals with their day-to-day challenges. The next meeting will be hosted by Huber Suhner in March 2018 and the main topic will be Employee Performance Management. In January SMBA will organize an informal luncheon for all HR practitioners to casually get together.
